These were created in the middle of 1967.
Body was a 1966 Lesney Matchbox Series No 8 Mustang Fastback.
Blue Mustang is a stock Matchbok Mustang body which is painted in original Mattel color.
Red Mustang is a modified (door/trunk/hood lines removed) Matchbox Mustang.
This one was later repainted Red. Unknown its original color. -
1st Concept: Hybrid Matchbox
First Hot Wheels was a hybrid
A Mattel chassis, suspension & wheels mated to a Matchbox Mustang body.

Has a very unique red plastic tail panel.
